About Me:

My journey of massage began when I went to see a massage therapist (at the suggestion of an acquaintance) for treatment of hip pain. It was my first professional massage and I was amazed at the relief that I experienced at the hands of a skilled practitioner. I inquired with my therapist about how I could do what he did. It wasn’t until two years later, when I saw the same therapist for neck pain, that I made the decision to attend the Brenneke School of Massage in 1996 and have been practicing massage ever since.

My work experience has afforded some great opportunities to broaden my skills. In addition to my private practice, I have also:

  • Provided work-site massage for a company for nine years.
  • Participated with the Washington State Sports Massage Team.
  • Employed at Northwest Wellness (Federal Way).
  • Instructed massage for the past 16 years.

During my career, I have also taken the following continuing education courses to enhance my knowledge of a variety of techniques:

  • Myofascial release certification by Maureen Warren
  • Strain-Counterstrain courses by the Jones Institute
  • Advanced Trainings in myofascial release by Til Luchau and Larry Koliha
  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage for traumatic edema by Dale Perry
  • Trager Method by Gwen Crowell and Goerge Gottlieb
  • Structural Relief Therapy by Taya Countryman
  • Manual Ligament Therapy by Arik Gohl and JoAnn Kovaly
  • Professional Ethics

I am currently a member of the Association of Bodywork and Massage Professionals and am licensed by the State of Washington (lic. #: MA10380).

I was born and raised in Hawaii and moved to Seattle in 1985. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Biology from the University of Washington in 2011. Ever since, I have come to call this beautiful city and its natural surroundings home. When I am not in the process of facilitating change for my clients, I enjoy getting out into the mountains for a good hike or backpacking trip. When the weather turns a bit cold and wet, I always enjoy a good and relaxing time indoors with a book or movie.
